From October 13, 2025 through October 31, 2025, we’re accepting nominations for a home that needs a roof replacement but simply cannot afford it. (No purchase necessary.) If you know someone (a neighbor, friend, or family member) in need of a safe roof over their head, submit their story today. The process is simple and meaningful.

Contest Details: How It Works
Nomination Entry – October 13 through October 31
- Submit the address of the home (street, city, state, zip) you believe needs the giveaway.
- Tell us why this home deserves a new roof: homeowner’s story, condition of the roof (age, missing shingles, leaks, structural issues), how the need came about.
- Provide your contact information and any photos of the roof from different angles.
- No purchase required. One good nomination per home; we just want genuine need.
Voting Period – November 10 through November 23
Once we’ve reviewed the nominations and selected finalists, we’ll ask the community of the Delmarva peninsula to cast their vote for the “neediest roof.” You don’t need to nominate to vote. Everyone is encouraged to take part and uplift a neighbor.
Winner Announcement – December 2 at 5:00 PM live on DelmarvaLife
We’ll reveal the selected homeowner live on air. The winner will receive a complete roof replacement, professionally installed by our crew at Spicer Bros., at no cost.

What Makes a “Needy Roof”?
Here are some of the criteria our team and community keep in mind—alongside the homeowner story:
- Multiple missing or damaged shingles or shingles past lifespan
- Multiple layers of roofing already in place (which can mean hidden issues)
- Active leaks or signs of water intrusion into ceilings/attic
- Roof materials in disrepair such that the homeowner cannot afford to replace
- Homeowner facing financial hardship (medical bills, job loss, aging homeowner, etc.)
- The home is owner-occupied (as per contest rules).
When we handle a roof project like this through the contest, we’re not just replacing shingles. We inspect underlayment, flashing, ventilation, and ensure the overall system is durable for years to come. We bring our expertise to bear so the winner’s home doesn’t just look new – it is protected.
